FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Although the term tincture usually refers to an herbal extract made with alcohol, our CBD is in an oil base. Similar products are commonly referred to as CBD Oil. We chose to use the term tincture as a more general term for a liquid herbal extract, and to connect it to the long human history of using plant-based tinctures.

We offer a wide variety of CBD Tinctures formulated to target certain benefits. Select from full spectrum, broad spectrum, or isolate tinctures, each packed with different cannabinoids.

Tinctures are not only convenient, but it is also easy to tailor the dosage to meet your needs. Tinctures are best administered sublingually to increase bioavailability since the CBD gets absorbed through mucous membranes in the mouth to more rapidly enter the bloodstream.

There is no "correct" answer when it comes to choosing your strength of CBD tincture as everyone feels the effects slightly different due to individual body chemistries. We recommend starting with 0.5 ml or 1 ml of a tincture, and then gradually increasing dose amount or frequency of dose if needed. Reference the below section on "How to Use CBD Tincture" to dial in your correct serving and strength over time.

Everyone's body chemistries are different and this may lead to different felt effects of CBD over time. We recommend taking the same dose for 1-2 weeks and observing the effects. If you do not feel the results you are looking for, increase the dose amount or frequency of dose to determine what works best for you.

Full Spectrum:

Full spectrum products contain all elements (i.e. terpenes and cannabinoids) of the cannabis plant, including up to 0.3% THC. Many users prefer full spectrum products, as they are often associated with the “entourage effect”—multiple cannabinoids working synergistically together.

Broad Spectrum:

All broad spectrum products include a blend of the plant's naturally occurring cannabinoids, but contain 0% THC. Broad spectrum tends to be a popular favorite among users, as these products contain a variety of other cannabinoids withoutTHC.

Isolate:

Isolate refers to a singular cannabinoid profile contained in a product. Isolate is strictly one molecule such as CBD, CBG, or CBN. Isolate is completely THC free and does not include any other cannabinoids or additional hemp compounds.

The method by which you consume or administer cannabinoid products can affect their bioavailability, which is how much of a substance enters the bloodstream in a given amount of time.

For example, vaporizing or sublingual consumption are great ways to ingest cannabinoids, as they offer high bioavailability, meaning they will enter the bloodstream at a faster rate with short-lasting effects. On the other hand, oral consumption via capsules or edibles will enter the bloodstream at a slower rate with longer-lasting effects. Topicals offer the lowest bioavailability, as they are absorbed through the skin.

Understanding bioavailability can help you determine how much of a product you need to take, and in what form, to ensure a proper dose actually ends up in your system.

This term is used to describe the experience-based evidence where all of the components (cannabinoids, terpenes, etc.) in the plant work synergistically together in the body to create a balanced effect.

US Residents

Yes! Hemp is legal! The 2018 Farm Bill amended the American Agricultural Marketing Act of 1946 and added a definition for hemp as an agricultural commodity. The 2018 Farm Bill defines raw hemp as an agricultural commodity, alongside corn and wheat. Hemp is expressly excluded from treatment as “marijuana” under the federal Controlled Substances Act (“CSA”), meaning hemp is not, and cannot be considered, a controlled substance under federal law and that U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”) does not maintain any authority over hemp.
